3/21/72-3/28/72

Not an unfamiliar run by any means, but I mention it because it's the 40th anniversary, and the beginning of a remarkable series of 40th anniversaries. Parts of some shows are represented here by some of the worst AUDs you'll find, but there's a lovely SBD of 3-23, with a nice stand-alone Dark Star:

The 3-22 show features a gorgeous jam out of Caution, which was released on a bonus disc with earlier purchases of Rockin' The Rhein, and can be found on some of the less scrupulous bittorrent sites. The end of that jam sounds like it must be chord changes of some song, but I don't recognize it and a search through the archive's forum archives didn't turn anything up. Anyone have the scoop on that jam? LiA?

3-28 and parts of 3-25 and 3-27 were released on DP30.

You've asked about that post-Caution jam before!

No answers to that one... I think of it as one of the spontaneous themes that floated across stage every so often in those years, never to be heard again.
My suspicion is that things like this were done in rehearsals all the time, but they rarely got onstage.

There was a little more discussion of that jam (along with many other one-time jams) in this thread:

Sorry! Well, I'll try not to ask about that one more often than every three years or so.

+1 on that Caution Jam for sure. Too bad more of the 22nd isnt available. The 23rd has that pedal steel LLR and a classic '72 Star. Pig is soundin great too. Love this little run - and yet another box set candidate imo.
